Yogi Adityanath asks for irrigation projects to be expedited

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday reviewed the progress of work on various irrigation projects and said that Saryu and Arjun Sahayak schemes were finally nearing completion after years of delay.
Officials informed the CM that Saryu Nahar Scheme, Arjun Sahayak Scheme, Bhawani Dam Scheme in Lalitpur, Ratauli Dam Scheme in Mahoba, Masgaon and Chili Sprinkler Scheme in Hamirpur, Kulpahar Sprinkler Scheme in Mahoba and irrigation projects in 15 villages of Jhansi’s Babina block would be completed by November.
“After Saryu and Arjun Sahayak projects are complete, people of Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Mahoba, Hamirpur and Banda will benefit. People who got affected due to these projects should be rehabilitated at the earliest,” the CM said.
Officials said work on Saryu and Rapti barrages, part of the Saryu project, had been completed.
