Chinese consumer technology brand Xiaomi has announced its new charging technology — which it claims is a new world record in both wired and wireless charging.
When it comes to wired charging, the company has announced its 200W HyperCharge fast charging technology and to demonstrate it showed a video of a phone with a 4000mAh battery that hits 50% charging status in just 3 minutes and a 100% charging status in 8 minutes.
As far as wireless charging is concerned, the company has showcased 120W technology. With this technology, Xiaomi claims that a 4000mAh battery can be charged from 0 to 100% in 15 minutes.
In the video, the company has apparently used a modified Mi 11 Pro smartphone.

Xiaomi, in the past too has exhibited its fast charging technology prowess.
Back in 2019, it announced 100W fast charging technology, which was followed by 120W fast charging in 2020. As for the wireless fast charging technology, Xiaomi last year had showcased 80W wireless fast charging technology.
Xiaomi is not the only Chinese consumer technology brand to be competing to become the one to offer the fastest charging support.
Last year in July, there was a time when Chinese smartphone brands announced their fastest charging technologies. Brands including Oppo, iQoo and Realme showcased — one after the other —showcased their developments in fast charge technology support.
While iQoo announced its 120 Watt ultra-fast flash charge technology with the claim that it can power up a 4000mAh battery from 0%to 50% in 5 minutes, Oppo and Realme showcased 125W VOOC flash charging and 125WW UltraDart Charge respectively.
