If you are a WhatsApp user and make use of their voice message feature a lot, then you must have at least once wished there was a way to be able to playback a message before sending it. But since the popular instant messaging app doesn’t offer that feature, you have to either send the message as is or delete it and re-record it and then send it.
However, the company has now been spotted working on support for a review tool for voice messages that will put an end to this annoyance.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the online platform that tracks the upcoming changes and features on the Facebook-owned app, the feature will allow users to listen to voice messages before sending them.
As per the screenshot provided in WABetaInfo’s report, the app will add a ‘review’ button next to the send icon that appears once you record a voice message on the app.
The option to review voice messages is currently under development and is not even available for the beta users of the app, claims WABetaInfo. However, it is expected to be released to both iiOS and Android users in a future update.
Last week, it was also reported that WhatsApp has started rolling out the support for different playback speeds for voice messages to Android beta users of the app.
The feature was first spotted in March in the Android beta version 126.96.36.199 of the app. Now, with the rollout of WhatsApp beta for Android 188.8.131.52, the feature is now being made available.
With this feature, besides being able to play audio messages at standard 1X speed, WhatsApp users will be able to play audio files at 1.5X or 2X speeds.
The feature is currently available to Android beta users of WhatsApp, however, it is expected to be rolled out to non-beta users as well as iOS users soon too.
