Microsoft adds personal chat to Teams for Windows 11

Microsoft rolled out Windows 11 to the users globally. The latest Windows operating system along with other features brings new Teams experience for the users. As announced by the company, Windows 11 users can now start using Chat from Microsoft Teams on Windows. Chat from Microsoft Teams will be pinned to the Taskbar at Windows 11 startup.
The ability to chat via Teams is available for personal accounts only. It allows users to start a video call or chat with friends and family.
Readers must note there are two apps of Microsoft Teams on Windows 11 – for personal and for work purposes. The Teams app labelled as work or school uses the icon with blue tile with a white letter “T” inside.
If a user tries to log into Chat with a work or school account, he/she will be redirected to download Teams for work or school. In case they have installed Teams on their laptops before upgrading the device to Windows 11, they can continue to use Teams for work or school as they were using prior to the upgrade.
While in case a user was previously using one Teams app for both personal and work or school accounts, they will now be required to have a dedicated app for each experience on Windows 11. If a user accidentally tries to log into the wrong version of the app, Teams will inform him/her.
Microsoft’s new operating system comes after a gap of 6 years. Windows 10 was launched in July 2015. The new Windows 11 comes with updated looks and features. For example, the taskbar now looks similar to the one seen on Mac and the context menus, popups and windows have rounded corners.
