Lucknow: Woman gang-raped in Alambagh, 4 arrested

LUCKNOW: A mentally unstable woman in her 30s was gang-raped by a group of autorickshaw and rickshaw drivers in Alambagh.
While four of the accused were arrested on Monday, five others, including a woman, are absconding.
The survivor is a Krishnanagar resident and is the daughter of a retired railways clerk.
She went missing on September 23 night and her father lodged a missing complaint. On September 24, he got a call from Alambagh Kotwali informing him his daughter was there. There he found his daughter injured and in torn clothes. He then lodged a complaint of rape and police lodged an FIR.
The woman told her father that the group had asked her to get into an autorickshaw, promising to drop her home. However, she was taken to railway colony in Alambagh where eight persons raped her and thrashed her. A woman was also there.
ADCP, Central Zone, Rajesh Srivastava said an investigation is on.
