CBI recreates suicide sequence in Mahant Giri’s room

LUCKNOW: Continuing its probe into the death of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri, a CBI team reached Shri Math Baghambari Gaddi in Prayagraj on Sunday and recreated the suicide scene in the room where the seer’s body was found on September 20.
Experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) also accompanied the CBI team.
The central agency sleuths questioned Balbeer Giri and the driver of Mahant Narendra Giri and also quizzed those who had gone to break the door of Girl’s room on the fateful day.
The driver was asked if he took the seer out of the Math or if he was asked to meet anybody on September 20.
CBI sources privy to the probe said the entire length, breadth and height of the room was measured by forensic experts.
“The height of the room was examined along with the length of the rope required to reach the ceiling fan. The scene of the incident was recreated and the entire proceedings were videographed,” an official said.
According to sources, a dummy would be used for recreation of scenes in the next round and those who were present on fateful day would be asked to repeat the actions that they had performed at that time.
The entire Math from the gate to the roof and its boundary was videographed and a list of people who visited the Math was prepared.
The CFSL team also met the doctors who conducted the post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, a CBI team is also expected to visit Naini jail to question the arrested accused Anand Giri, Sandeep Tiwari and Adya Tiwari.
The 20-member CBI team from Delhi headquarters, which started investigations on Saturday, is staying at the police lines guest house and will camp in Prayagraj for about 10 days.
